Founder

Rolf Stahlhofen

Founder of Water Is Right

Rolf Stahlhofen, Founder – serves as the Chairman of the Foundation responsible for the visibility, external representation, and fundraising of Water Is Right. As a successful musician and singer, producer, and philanthropist, he has laid the groundwork for expanding these activities over the course of more than ten years of highly successful work. Multiple awards from the political sphere and bestowed the title ‘Messenger of Truth’ by the UN, Rolf is dedicated to advocating for the human right to water.

Tim Geldmacher
Executive board

Tim is responsible for fundraising among other areas as a board member. He has been a self-employed entrepreneur for over 20 years and serves as a board member in various companies. As Chairman of the Board of the Essen-based association “Menschenmögliches e.V.”, former board member of “German Rotary Volunteer Doctors e.V.”, and the “Essener Ehrenamt Agentur”, he has experience in the NGO sector and possesses a large national and international network.

Managing Director

Oliver, a graduate in Communication Science, brings deep expertise from various leadership positions in different companies. His wealth of experience, coupled with his strategic competence and social commitment, enriches the foundation.

Karun Körnig
COO

Karun serves as the COO of the Water Is Right Foundation, overseeing and managing the operational business since its inception. With many years of experience working at the UN, he brings relevant expertise and connections to the role. Based on Vancouver Island, Karun also evaluates and coordinates all projects of the foundation, specializing in humanitarian projects in Africa and Asia.

Nancy Sikukku
Local project coordinator

Nancy, born in Kenya, is a pivotal figure at Water Is Right, overseeing the local implementation of projects. With her extensive expertise and years of experience in water engineering, Nancy collaborates closely with the local team at Water Is Right. She excels in engaging with people on a personal level, not only bringing her technical knowledge but also understanding the cultural nuances and needs of the community.

Celina Möller
Project manager

Celina is a dedicated graduate in business administration who passionately supports our mission. As a project manager, her role involves establishing structures for the foundation’s future growth while also supporting the day-to-day project work. Her extensive volunteer work with the “Medienmonstern” and her expertise make her an ideal member of the foundation.

Marie Koschany
Coordination of international projects
Marie combines her expertise in international human rights and sustainability through her two degrees in Law and Geography. Her interdisciplinary understanding of societal challenges, paired with a deeply rooted social consciousness, which she has demonstrated through years of voluntary work in refugee aid and other social sectors, enables her to advance our goals and contribute to the development of sustainable international aid projects.
Kicki Fremmer
Strategic Consulting

Kicki has been working in strategic brand and organizational development for over 20 years and pursues an international mindset, not least through her own career path. She creates sustainable structures and maintains a systemic view of tasks, projects, and team members. At Water Is Right, she accompanies strategic processes, and we benefit from her experience as a coach and the communication-driven impulses she brings to her voluntary work with us.

Carlo Credo
Marketing

Carlo Credo is an entrepreneur and marketing expert by passion. Over the past 10 years, he has supported numerous companies in the areas of marketing and sales.
Additionally, Carlo has also founded and built several companies himself, always ensuring that his projects are not only enjoyable but also serve a certain purpose. His approaches combine passion with business acumen, and he is regarded as a source of inspiration for many who are open to new impulses and strategies in their field of business.

Jil Wieser

Jil will be a student of “Business Psychology” at WHU in Koblenz starting in the fall of 2024. In her role as a working student with us, she intensively supports our operational business and brings in her valuable experience from the start-up and NGO scene in a rewarding way. Her commitment and diverse skills help us optimize our processes and bring in new perspectives.

Arnd Fittkau contributes supportively as a member of the board of trustees. As Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of Vonovia SE, Arnd represents the new generation of executives who are committed to promoting sustainability both professionally and personally.

Dr. Manuel Reppmann
Strategy, sustainability and measurability

Dr. Manuel Reppmann is a research associate at the Chair of Sustainable Business at the University of Hamburg. Manuel is responsible for strategy, sustainability, and measurability at Water Is Right, as well as bridging the gap between the organization and academia, as well as younger generations.

Friedrich Brus
Legal advice

Friedrich Brus oversees all legal matters within the Board of Trustees. This includes providing legal advice on contract matters and coordinating with our tax advisor and auditor. Friedrich is a lawyer and notary, a partner at the Essen-based law firm Zuhorn + Partner. He has experience in association law and has served for many years as a board member in various nonprofit organizations, including as Chairman of the Board at Skate Aid e.V.

Kiki Radicke
HR-Expert

Kiki is an outstanding HR expert who serves as Head of People & Culture at Essener Adacor Hosting GmbH. With her extensive experience and deep expertise in human resources, as well as her impressive voluntary work for the nonprofit organization “Medienmonster” that she co-founded, she brings invaluable value to the foundation.

Mark Steinbach
Supporter

Mark Steinbach is the CEO of the opta data group based in Essen, one of the leading companies for IT, billing, and services in the healthcare sector, with around 3,000 employees and over 60,000 customers. He is well-known in Essen and beyond for his social commitment as an entrepreneur.

Matthias Blatz
Supporter

Matthias Blatz is the managing partner of Heidelberg iT Management GmbH & Co. KG. With over 25 years of experience in the conception and implementation of IT and internet projects, he is a seasoned IT expert. As a socially-oriented entrepreneur, he has been a member of the full assembly of the IHK Rhein-Neckar in the IT industry electoral group since 2015. Additionally, he serves on the supervisory board of Realtec AG and holds positions as a board member (Vorstand) at Rotary Heidelberg Neckar, the Heidelberg Palo Alto Club (partner city of Heidelberg), and the Friedenskreuzstiftung.

Matthias Compes
Finances

Matthias Compes is responsible for finances within the board. As a trained business mediator and executive coach, he is the co-founder of Morgen Advisory Partners GmbH, an M&A consulting firm based in Vienna. Prior to this role, Matthias held various leadership positions at Brenntag SE for over 20 years, culminating in his role as Regional CEO for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Matthias Hartmann
Supporter

Matthias Hartmann has been supporting our cause from the very beginning, as Matthias and Rolf met through music. Matthias is not only a gifted drummer but also an early supporter and the CEO of Techem Energy Services GmbH based in Eschborn.

Niklas Wilcke
NGO-Expert

Niklas Wilcke brings extensive experience in the NGO sector, including serving on the board of the Essener Ehrenamt Agentur and as Past President of Rotary Essen-Ruhr. Niklas is a lawyer and partner at Krell Pleines & Wilcke in Essen, as well as a member of the supervisory board and shareholder of the Funke Medien Gruppe.

Stefan Pfeiffer
CFO Supporter

Stefan Pfeiffer primarily supports the CFO in the Board of Trustees. As the Deputy Chairman of Menschenmögliches e.V., he is responsible for finance. Additionally, he serves as the treasurer of the Folkwang Museumsverein and is active in the Board of Trustees of the Essener Kinderschutzbund. He is also a longstanding active member of Rotary Essen-Ruhr (President 22/23). Stefan is a self-employed tax advisor and auditor.

Thomas Hirsch

Thomas Hirsch served as the Lord Mayor of the City of Landau in der Pfalz until the end of 2022. Since January 1, 2023, he has been the new Chairman of the Board and President of the Sparkassenverband Rheinland-Pfalz, supporting our mission in his region.
